Biological Society of Slovenia (Društvo biologov Slovenije) is joining the activities marking this year’s International Darwin Day:
“We kindly invite you to join us to celebrate International Darwin Day, marking the birthday of the world-renowned natural scientist Charles Darwin, who was born on February 12, 1809.
By celebrating International Darwin Day, we want to encourage people all over the world, especially the young, to critical evaluation, tireless revelation of the truth, unlimited curiosity, and to thinking about the importance of intellectual honesty, personal integrity, courage, and principle. All these qualities were distinguished by Darwin and led him forward on his great intellectual journey while discovering the laws of evolution.
The main event of the International Darwin Day 2018 will be a lecture entitled Darwinism in the 21st Century, which is going to be held by prof. dr. Matjaž Kuntner on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at 11 am in the Slovenian Museum of Natural History.
On this occasion, prof. dr. Matjaž Kuntner will address the Slovenian public with an epistle named On International Darwin Day.
The epistle and the recording of the lecture will be freely available on videolectures.net, and on the website of the Biological Society of Slovenia. The epistle will be available online as early as February 12, 2018, while the recording of the lecture is going to follow a few days later.”
