On Sunday 11 February, from 3 to 7 pm, the Museum of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy at the Palazzo del Rettorato in via Università 4 will make an extraordinary opening with numerous events on the occasion of Darwin Day, the international day organized to commemorate the birth of Darwin on 12 February 1809. Two conferences will be held by prof. Maresa Bertolo of the Polytechnic of Milan and by dr. Andrea Cau of the University of Bologna, introduced by the director of the Polo Museale prof. Elena Corradini together with prof. Stefania Benvenuti, President of the Naturalist and Mathematical Society. Throughout the afternoon, many different workshops will be organized for youngsters; furthermore, the multimedia CD “Darwin, Modena e 200 anni di evoluzione” (Darwin, Modena and 200 years of evolution) will be screened on the occasion of the bicentenary of Darwin’s birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of the work “The Origin of Species “(1859) by the Society of Naturalists and Mathematicians of Modena.
