This year’s Darwin Day celebration features three main events: a keynote address, evolutionary themed video screenings, and a teacher development workshop. There will also be events for kids at the Discovery Science Place and the Center for Earth & Space Science Exploration.
Keynote lecture: “Applications of the Tree of Life,” by Dr. David Hillis, the Alfred W. Roark Centennial Professor of Biology at the University of Texas at Austin, on Friday, February 12 from 6 – 7 p.m. at the UT Tyler University Center Theater. Workshops for teachers: Saturday, February 13, from 8:45 – 3 at Tyler Junior College, Genecov Science building. Registration required; CEU credit available; no cost.
