Bridgewater State University’s Department of Biological Sciences and Center for the Advancement of STEM Education (CASE) are excited to announce the preliminary schedule for our 2nd Annual Darwin Day celebration.
Our event will take place on Friday, February 10th, 2017, in the Dana Mohler-Faria Science and Mathematics Building’s Atrium, Auditorium, and 2nd floor hallway. Throughout the day, we will have an information booth staffed by our students, student research posters, several natural history displays from our Natural History and Anthropology Collections, as well as three film screenings from the PBS series “Your Inner Fish” (beginning at 8:00 am (Your Inner Fish), 10:00 am (Your Inner Reptile), and 3:00 pm (Your Inner Monkey) in the Auditorium) followed by moderated discussions with BSU faculty, staff, and students. Like last year, Portable Charles Darwin will be available for photo ops! We have invited Dr. Erika Edwards of Brown University as our keynote speaker, and she will be giving a public talk at 7:00 pm that evening on her exciting research on plant diversity and evolution.
