Darwin Day at Portland State University with Dr. Jim Baichtal of Tongass National Forest!

February 12, 2015 @ 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Dr. Jim Baichtal, lead geologist for the Tongass National Forest in Alaska, has conducted a variety of biological field research from ancient invertebrate assemblages in karst forests to large-scale landscape shaping by glaciation. An engaging and educational speaker, Dr. Baichtal will be taking us through the evolution of coastlines as we know them and how glaciers have had a drastic effect on their development in this first of two lectures at PSU to celebrate Darwin Day.

Dr. Baichtal will be speaking from 7-8 PM with questions after. Additionally, join us from 5:30-6:15PM for a welcome, and from 6:15-6:45 for a graduate student roundtable discussion with Dr. Baichtal. FREE. Refreshments provided.
