The first public Darwin day in Latvia will be celebrated with an illustrated story about the serious, weird and funny life events of Charles Darwin and his discoveries. The story will include both the relatively known facts and insights into his personal life, notes about his criticism of slavery, admiration of earthworms, reflections on getting married, his efforts in animal protection issues and other oddities, that help us seeing him not just as an enormously influential scientist but also a fascinating specimen of our species.
Afterwards – an open discussion between science enthusiasts, skeptics and everyone else who is willing to understand the world better.
