ACTION ALERT: Support the Darwin Day Resolutions Introduced in U.S. House and Senate

Jan. 18, 2018

Contact your senators and representatives now!

Dear Friend,

Thanks to the hard work of the AHA’s lobbying team the Darwin Day Resolutions, H. Res. 699 and S. Res. 374, have just been re-introduced in the U.S. House and Senate. We are proud to work with Representative Jim Himes and Sen. Richard Blumenthal to re-introduce these resolutions, which:

  • State that evolution “provides humanity with a logical and intellectually compelling explanation for the diversity of life on Earth.”
  • Demand that the “advancement of science be protected from those unconcerned with the adverse impacts of global warming and climate change.”
  • Confirm that the “teaching of creationism in some public schools compromises the scientific and academic integrity of the United States’ education systems.”

Show Congress that voters care about science by contacting your Representative and Senators today and asking them to co-sponsor the Darwin Day Resolutions.

With the resurgence of the religious right in Congress, now is the time for you to stand up and make your humanist voice be heard. Take a moment to ask your elected officials to co-sponsor the Darwin Day resolutions.

Thank you for standing up for science!

Sincerely,

Roy Speckhardt
Executive Director
