Darwin’s Birthday Bash: Evolution Night at the Museum

Why do Birds of Paradise look so extravagant? How did porcupines get their quills? Where did Darwin get his ideas? These questions and more will be investigated as we focus in on the backbone of modern biology: evolution!

This event will feature specimens from the Slater Museum collections, special guests from the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, a children’s activities, hands-on learning, dissection demonstrations, guest experts, and a ceramics showing by local Tacoma artist Claudia Riedener. Birthday cake will be provided!

This is a free, family-friendly, drop-in event!

Join us February 11th, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the University of Puget Sound Campus (located at 1500 N Warner St, Tacoma, WA 98416) in Thompson Hall room 295.
