Please join your friends at the Atlanta Science Tavern at Einstein’s in Midtown on Sunday, February 10 for what we hope will become an annual public tradition of celebrating International Darwin Day here in Atlanta. (For the lastest details about this event visit its meetup page.)
The format for our Darwin Day Dinner will be a 2-speaker mini-symposium, with the first presentation on a topic from the history of evolutionary biology and the second on a topic having to do with the discoveries made possible using contemporary research methods.
5:30 pm – Gather for drinks and socializing.
6:00 pm – Evolutionary Biology Then – (speaker to be determined.)
7:00 pm – Dinner
8:00 pm – Evolutionary Biology Now – Chris Gunter, geneticist, Director of Research Affairs at HudsonAlpha, former editor at Nature.
Titles and descriptions of the talks and speaker bios will be posted when they become available.
Your fixed-price dinner will include an entree from this inviting menu (PDF) and will include a non-alcoholic beverage and family-style dessert, all for $15. Tax and gratuity will be added. Since we will be paying individually, you can add other items from Einstein’s regular menu, if you like, and of course, drinks from their well-stocked bar.
We will need a solid head a week before this event. So feel free to sign up here now, but expect to be contacted later for confirmation of your reservation.
Complimentary valet parking will be available.
