Several events are being held at The University of South Dakota in observation of Darwin Day!
February 10, 2013 – Darwin-themed indoor group cycling class. Join us for a Darwin-themed scenic ride. This event is being held in the cycling studio (rm. 109) of the USD Wellness Center from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.
February 12, 2013 – Lonesome George: Remembering a Tortoise. A presentation by Dr. Holly Straub, 12:30-1:30 pm in Churchhill-Haines 118. Lonesome George was recognized for decades as the only surviving Galapagos tortoise from Pinta Island. He died on June 24, 2012.
February 12, 2013 – Using Evolution to Search for Oil. A presentation by Dr. Thomas Marshall, 7:00-8:00 pm in South Dakota Union 321.
February 12, 2013 – Happy birthday Charles Darwin! A traditional birthday celebration including cake & party games. Traditional games will be replaced with Darwin inspired games of “pin the beak on the medium ground finch” and “musical sinking islands”. This event is being held in South Dakota Union 321 at 8:00 pm.
